About Deb Newberry
As a researcher and executive working with space systems, she knows both sides of the product development and realization adventure.
From assessing customer requirements and desires to creating a multi-disciplinary team to define the path to meet those requirements Deb has increased revenue by over 100%.
Deb was a pioneer in satellite radiation effects and carries that pioneer spirit forward in The Compass Process™. Her early involvement in nanotechnology (1988) has expanded into composite materials, photonics, and nanobiotechnology.
She is a science-focused author, writing 6 books, many journal papers and book chapters.
With a life long passion for anything space related, a curious and creative nature – any task is met with enthiuasm and energy.
Creator of a 72 credit Nanotechnician Program
As part of this 2 year program, Deb created courses in nanoelectronics, nanomaterials, nanobiotechnology as well as segments on environment, sustainability, and societal impact considerations. She created labs including nanotechnology equipment, multiple experiments and independent student research topics.
Gifted speaker and educator
Deb is a gifted speaker with over 100 presentations and over a decade of classroom experience. She is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE.

She is the author of 3 science focused books (2020- 2024), co author of a 2003 book and has written and contributed three Educator Guides for science and engineering teachers.
